Our commitment to sustainability
Reduce CO2 emissions
Reducing before offsetting is our credo. We aim to achieve net zero greenhouse gases across our value chain by 2040. We are guided by the scientific guidelines of the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi), which has confirmed our 2023 climate targets.
Promoting the circular economy
To protect the environment and conserve resources, we are committed to the principles of the circular economy. We develop new products in line with our ecodesign guidelines, aiming to minimize waste and emissions wherever possible and to use more sustainable materials.
Acting responsibly
Sustainability is an integral part of how we think and act. We view it as our social responsibility to protect the environment, to support and develop our employees and to uphold ethical behavior both as individuals and as a company.
Our path to Net Zero
The NetZero Program is Ypsomed's ambitious roadmap for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, with the goal of reaching net-zero along the entire value chain by 2040. We are fully committed to the science-based reduction targets set by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

The data for our carbon footprint includes Ypsomed AG and its subsidiaries.
Ecodesign of new products
We continuously optimize the entire lifecycle of our products and our full value chain — from development, procurement, and production to packaging, user application, and ultimately disposal and recycling.
All of our newly developed product platforms are developed for ecodesign: through careful material selection using bio-based plastics, the reduction of material quantity and variety, as well as their high recyclability. In the 2025/26 fiscal year, we launched three new product platforms with a low CO2 footprint: the new YpsoLoop autoinjector platform as well as the new YpsoFlow and YpsoDot pen platforms. YpsoLoop received the CPHI Pharma Award in the Drug Delivery and Device Innovation category at CPHI in Frankfurt. The award recognizes technologies that set new standards in user-friendliness, design, and innovation. This demonstrates that the Ypsomed Group successfully translates its commitment to sustainability and usability into action.

Our sustainability approach
Contribution to the UN sustainable development goals
The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are 17 global goals that were adopted as part of the 2030 Agenda. They serve as a roadmap for sustainable development that combines economic progress with social justice and environmental protection. At Ypsomed, we contribute to various sustainability goals.
We make the greatest contribution to the following five goals:
Global reporting initiative (GRI)
We integrate sustainability holistically across our business and value chain. We disclose our strategy, targets, actions and progress — for example, through the GRI-index based on the principles of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Environmental management system
Ypsomed AG and its production sites in Switzerland and Germany are certified to ISO 14001. This standard requires products and services to be considered over their entire life cycle, thus creating the basis for circular solutions and improved environmental performance.
Materiality analysis
In a materiality analysis, we consider both the impact of sustainability issues on our business (outside-in) and the impact of our activities on society and the environment (inside-out), in line with the principle of dual materiality.
