40 years of Ypsomed

At the end of August, Ypsomed celebrated its 40th anniversary with a big employee party at the Attisholz site in Solothurn. All employees in Switzerland and their families were invited to a colourful party with various local artists and a wide range of entertainment for the whole family, with a total of around 3500 guests attending. The highlight of the day was the concert by Swiss musician DJ BoBo.

After the sale of Disetronic to Roche, the successor company needs a new name. In reference to the Greek word "Ipso" for "Self" and "med" for Medication, it will be named Ypsomed.

Disetronic is growing rapidly and needs more space

In 1994 and 1995, Disetronic constructed a new building at Oberburg railway station for 20 million Swiss francs, which still remains today as the company headquarters of Ypsomed. The 7200 square metre building was necessary because the company would have otherwise been bursting at the seams.
