YpsoStory

At Ypsomed, team spirit not only counts in daily cooperation, but also in leisure time. Our employees like to do things together. In addition to cooking courses, artistic workshops and sightseeing tours, they sometimes cover long distancessuch as the Grand Prix of Bern, where the longest distance is around 16 kilometres. According to the organisers, these are the ten most beautiful miles in the world. This year, "the GP" took place in mid-May with more than 25,000 runners. Around 50 colleagues from Ypsomed were at the start.

Participation in the GP is organised by WE@Ypsomed, a programme in which employees get involved in the areas of health, culture and sustainability and develop interesting activities for all colleagues to take part in. The entry fee and the shirts for participation in various competitions are donated by Ypsomed. As a thank you, the Ypsomed team took third place in the company ranking this year, behind the Inselgruppe Bern and Swisscom. We warmly congratulate all runners on this!

Over the years, the GP has become a popular WE@Ypsomed event. Word gets around about the team’s great experiences, attracting more colleagues and motivating them to take part. From production to management, employees from all departments take part in the runs. With the increasing internationalisation of Ypsomed, colleagues from other countries are also becoming part of the team, for example from Hungary, Brazil, Russia, or China.

In addition to the Grand Prix of Bern, various other races up to the Jungfrau Marathon are on the programme.

"These events are a very good opportunity to get to know each other better. We sometimes train together, motivate, and support each other during the run, and enjoy successes together,"

says Daniel Richard, who has the running events under his wing. Everything is voluntary, fun and socialising are not neglected. After the runs, they like to go out for dinner together – and if the mood is good, they go on together.

"Before, during and after the run, we have great conversations and get to know each other better beyond the departmental boundaries. You can feel that when you discuss a work issue in everyday life,"

says Daniel Richard.

Every day, a running group sets off from Burgdorf or Solothurn at 11:30 am. Anyone who enjoys running and has the time and desire is welcome to join. There is a group for every level.

This year, for the first time, the youngest also participated: the Ypsomed children could be seen running in the Bear Run over the 1.7-kilometre course. The next generation is already on its way.
