Sustainable action is embedded in our corporate strategy. We want to play a pioneering role in sustainability in our industry. The result that Ypsomed was awarded the silver medal for our sustainability commitment for the first time by EcoVadis, an independent assessment agency in the field of sustainability, is all the more gratifying.
This result places us among the top 25% worldwide in our industry ("Manufacture of medical and dental instruments and supplies"). In particular, our performance in the area of environmental protection was rated as outstanding (90 out of 100 points), with among others:
- ISO 14001 certification (Ypsomed AG and Produktions GmbH) and ISCC+ certification for demonstrably sustainable plastics
- Evaluation of our products based on LCAs (Life Cycle Assessments) and initiation of improvements of our products (e.g. according to Ecodesign Guideline)
- Corporate Zero program with our ambitious CO2 reduction path according to science-based climate targets (SBTi, Science Based Targets initiative)
- Training and awareness-raising in the area of sustainability
In addition to environmental protection, a large number of measures and KPIs from the areas of "Labor and Human Rights," "Ethics" and "Sustainable Procurement" are also included in the assessment and have contributed significantly to the positive result.
In line with our Sustainability Management System and our Sustainability Strategy, we are naturally striving to improve continuously in order to achieve our ambitious sustainability goals in the long term.
