Interaction on our social media pages 

Data you share on our social media pages—such as usernames, comments, videos, images, likes, and public messages—is published via the respective social media platform. If the platform provides the functionality, we may share content you have posted on our page. Where appropriate, we may also communicate with you directly via the platform. We do not process this data for any other purpose, but we reserve the right to delete content if we deem it necessary.

Please note that communication via social media platforms is not secure. Depending on the nature of your inquiry, we may refer you to alternative, secure communication channels that ensure confidentiality—such as our contact form, mailing address, or the email address provided in our site’s imprint. You are responsible for choosing the communication method.

We process data on social media platforms based on our legitimate interest in maintaining public relations and engaging in communication with our audience.

Statistics based on usage 

Some social media platforms generate statistics based on usage data, which include information about how visitors interact with our social media pages. We have only limited control over the creation of these (anonymous) statistics and how they are made available to us, and we cannot fully prevent them. However, Ypsomed does not use any optional analytics provided by social media platforms.

We process the information from these statistics based on our legitimate interest in evaluating the use of our social media pages and improving our content to better reach our target audiences.

Advertising 

We occasionally use our social media platforms to deliver targeted advertising. For this purpose, we use audience segments provided by the social media platform. We only use anonymous audience groups—defined by general characteristics such as demographics, behavior, and interests (e.g., users who have viewed Ypsomed videos), or based on information like region and profession.

We do not share any personal data with the social media platform as part of this targeting process.

The platform operator uses these characteristics to deliver ads to the corresponding users. The platform operator is solely responsible for this data processing. The legal basis for this may be the consent you have given to the platform. To revoke this consent, please use the platform’s provided opt-out or revocation options.

From time to time, we or the platform operator may also use publicly available data for targeting purposes. We have a legitimate interest in reaching the right audience with our advertising to avoid content that could be perceived as intrusive or irrelevant.

We never use sensitive categories of personal data—such as health information, sexual orientation, or political beliefs—to define target audiences.

Duration of storage 

We delete your personal data when it is no longer required for the purposes stated above and no legal retention obligations prevent its deletion.

The operator of the social media platform uses web tracking technologies. Tracking may occur regardless of whether you are logged in or registered with the platform.

Please note that the platform provider may use your profile and behavioral data—for example, to analyze your habits, personal relationships, preferences, and more.
