After all, the best possible quality of life also enhances our employees' health. Healthy and satisfied employees are one of our basic prerequisites. After all, this is the only way to achieve our goals.
In order to do so, not only do we foster a transparent, easy-going atmosphere but we also provide our employees with an infrastructure that offers them optimum support.
Family-friendly corporate structure
We go to great lengths to offer our employees a corporate culture that is as family-friendly as possible. This includes flexible working hours featuring flex-time and annualised hours work contracts, part-time work, parental leave and contributions to child care. We offer our employees subsidised day care places for their children in the Bucher Areal day care centre in Burgdorf and the day care centre Fauna in Solothurn.
Health and wellness
The well-being and health of our employees is a subject we feel strongly about. We therefore offer a broad spectrum of services and activities which go well beyond standard business practices.
We provide our employees at all Ypsomed sites with subsidised staff restaurants or spacious break rooms. We feel it's important to offer tasty cuisine based on regional and seasonal products. At the company headquarters in Burgdorf, Ypsomed offers its employees sustainable catering in collaboration with SV Service Switzerland.
Around one-third of the world's CO2 emissions are generated by food processing. Our staff restaurant strives to reduce these CO2 emissions to a minimum with the "ONE TWO WE" programme. For example, only sustainably produced and processed foods are used.
Fitness and indoor swimming pool
Ypsomed promotes and subsidises its employees' health. At various sites, employees can use selected gyms and swimming pools free of charge for exercising and unwinding.
We promote and support active sport. For instance, we sponsor our employees' participation in various runs (e.g. the Burgdorf City Run and the Grand Prix of Berne), have our own company football team and are partners of the Swiss "Bike to work" initiative.
Employees who are interested in music have the opportunity to join Ypsomed's own band, "DiaBeatles and the Needlehorns".
The health of our employees is essential to us. For this reason, we use a variety of initiatives to actively encourage all of our employees to be happy and healthy. These activities have enabled us to reduce the absence rate by 50% in recent years.
Company social counselling
Ypsomed cooperates with the occupational social-welfare counselling company, Movis. This institution offers employees free counselling on personal matters and occupational issues.
