Learning together across national borders
To further strengthen collaboration between the teams in Burgdorf (CH) and Changzhou (CN), intercultural training sessions and joint workshops were held. The visit by colleagues from China to Switzerland in early 2026 provided a valuable opportunity to deepen personal exchanges and learn from one another.
The focus was on questions surrounding successful international collaboration: How can effective communication be achieved across cultural boundaries? What are the expectations regarding meetings, leadership, and collaboration? And how can misunderstandings be avoided in everyday work?
Understanding as the foundation of successful collaboration
The exchange demonstrated how strongly communication styles can be shaped by culture: ranging from more indirect and hierarchically oriented communication to more direct and highly structured ways of working. At the same time, it became clear how important openness, mutual respect, and clear communication are for shared success.
