"Ypsomed's trainee program is a great opportunity for me to get to know different roles and figure out where I can best apply my skills and interests." Leon Tobler is one of the first
trainees at Ypsomed in Switzerland. His start exemplifies what sets our company apart: young talents are given responsibility early on, get to know different areas, and actively help shape the company.
Right in the thick of things from the start
Ypsomed is specifically expanding its offerings for college graduates. The new "Explorer Career Start" program offers two trainees each year a structured entry into professional life. including a permanent position from day one. Over 18 months, they rotate through various departments, collaborate on projectS, and contribute their perspectives. In addition, Ypsomed has been offering internships for many years lasting six to twelve months, which provide initial insights in their daily work. There is great interest in both programs. Not least because many
graduates today face a challenging job market.
Learn, apply, advance
As of this year, high school graduates can pursue a dual study program in mechanical engineering at Ypsomed in Schwerin, Germany. In collaboration with Wismar University of Applied Sciences, the four-and-a-half-year program combines academic studies with practical training at Ypsomed. Projects in production and exposure to modern technologies allow students to apply what they learn directly in practice. Students earn both a vocational qualification and a Bachelor of Engineering while gaining valuable experience in an industrial environment.
Laying the foundation for the future
Basic vocational training forms the foundation Of skilled workforce development at Ypsomed. In total, over 100 apprentices complete their training at the company, more than 70 of them in Switzerland and over 30 in Germany. Whether in technical professions such as polymechanics, plant operation, or plastics processing, or in commercial roles: Apprentices take on responsibility early on and grow into their roles Step by Step. This is how the exact expertise that strengthens Ypsomed in the long term is developed.
Ypsomed enjoys an excellent reputation as a training company, particularly in the cantons of Bern and Solothurn. This is thanks to dedicated vocational trainers who pass on their knowledge and provide individual support to young people.
Our passion for training has played a key role in helping Ypsomed establish itself as a strong training company. Despite societal changes, the number of applicants remains stable. At the same time, it remains a challenge to fill technical apprenticeships in particular. That's why I'm all the more pleased when young women among the applicants show an interest in these professions,
