55 years at Ypsomed. That is the impressive total when you add up Stephan and Christian's years of service. They have already experienced a lot and have been through ups and downs with Ypsomed. What has kept them at the same company for so long?

There from the start

When Stephan joined what was then Disetronic AG, everything was smaller and more manageable. "My start was very informal. I felt comfortable from the very first moment," he recalls. That feeling has remained.

Christian, who joined the company 25 years ago, also does not talk first about technologies or career steps, but about working together: "We communicate openly and personally, across all hierarchical levels."

Perhaps that is precisely what makes the difference: an environment where you do not just work, but belong. Ypsomed's corporate culture is highly valued and carefully nurtured.

Growing with every change

A lot has changed in three decades – technologies, markets, expectations. Today's production is no longer comparable to what it was back then. Digitization, automation, and global collaboration shape everyday life.

"I have always grown with the company," says Stephan. "Some developments were challenging, but they also helped us move forward."

Christian has also constantly reoriented himself. From trained plastics technologist to management positions in production to Value Stream Manager Production – each role brought new responsibilities. "I was able to continuously develop myself. That's not something to be taken for granted."

More than just a job

But career alone does not explain 25 or 30 years. "I have experienced appreciation and respect over the years," says Stephan. "This makes it easy not only to know the company's values, but to truly live them."

Christian describes it this way: "For me, Ypsomed is more than just an employer. You take on responsibility – almost as if it were your own company."

Meaning that lasts

What drives both of them is also the task behind their daily work. Developing and manufacturing products that enable people with chronic conditions to live more independent lives gives their work a special meaning.

"Knowing that our solutions support patients worldwide continues to motivate me to this day," says Stephan.

What does the future hold?

Both want to add a few more years of service and continue their work at Ypsomed for the time being: "I hope that we continue to drive innovations that create real added value," says Stephan. "And that Ypsomed remains a place where people enjoy working."

Christian adds: "Ypsomed's growth is a joint achievement of all our employees. People from different cultures and with diverse perspectives contribute daily to overcoming our challenges. This diversity is one of our company's great strengths. At the same time, it is important to us that our corporate culture is preserved as we grow: treating each other with respect and appreciation and working together in a spirit of trust and mutual support."

55 years of experience stand for consistency. But even more than that, they stand for trust, development, and shared responsibility. Stories like those of Stephan and Christian show that long-term success depends not only on technology, but also on people who stay, grow, and help shape the future.
