Company Story

Approximately 350 suggestions for improvement were submitted to Ypsomed between June 2025 and May 2026. More than 180 of them have already been implemented. Five particularly effective ideas from the production department have now been recognized. They demonstrate how our employees use their attention to detail, expertise, and initiative to streamline processes and use resources more efficiently.

Staying attentive in our day-to-day work, identifying opportunities for improvement, and developing actionable solutions: This is the fundamental principle of the continuous improvement process (CIP) at Ypsomed. It is an important component of our lean management and helps us continuously refine our processes.

The ideas submitted originate directly from our employees’ work environment. Often, these are adjustments that may seem minor at first glance but have a significant impact in daily operations.

Five award-winning ideas from production

The winning suggestions demonstrate the breadth of continuous improvement in everyday production. The solutions simplify switching between different packaging boxes, improve the availability of frequently needed small parts, and make camera-based quality inspection more efficient and less prone to disruptions. Other ideas reduce wear and tear on production equipment and enable space-saving storage of heavy transport devices. Together, the five projects help make processes more efficient, reliable, and resource-efficient.

Continuous improvement as a shared responsibility

Ralph Fasler, Vice President of Global Manufacturing, praised the award winners and their contribution to Ypsomed’s ongoing development:

The winning projects demonstrate that effective improvements often arise directly from day-to-day work. Our employees know the processes best and see where we can make workflows simpler, safer, or more efficient. We need this commitment and the courage to contribute ideas in order to continuously improve.

Congratulations to the winners – and many thanks to all employees who identify opportunities for improvement and share their ideas.
