Since May, Ypsomed has also been on TikTok – with a special concept: our channel is designed by the apprentices and supported by Ypsomed's communications department. They plan, film, and edit the TikTok posts themselves, contributing their own perspective on everyday working life and exciting projects at Ypsomed.
Authentic, approachable, and creative
What makes our project so special is that the videos are created by the target group for the target group. This creates a high degree of authenticity – our trainees know what interests young people and convey exactly that in our clips.
I like that we trainees are given so much responsibility,
says Noemi, a trainee mediamatician.
Responsibility and teamwork
Our TikTok team consists of nine apprentices from different apprenticeship professions. Working together across professional boundaries is particularly exciting: you get to know new people, exchange ideas, and grow beyond yourself. Many of the apprentices have also gained a new perspective on social media through the project – from teamwork and self-organization to confidently appearing on camera.
I never would have thought that TikToks required so much planning,
says Olti, production mechanic apprentice
Learning beyond the screen
The apprentices started with workshops in which they learned about Ypsomed's TikTok strategy. They are now putting what they have learned into practice, from creative ideas to video shooting and editing in our own clips.
You learn things that you can also use outside of TikTok – such as teamwork, self-organization, and confident presentation skills,
says Christian, apprentice design engineer.
A project with impact
It's especially cool when people comment on the apprentices' videos – or when someone says, “I've already seen you on my For You page!”
