What is your job with us?
I work at Ypsomed as the Category Lead for Large Volume Injectors and manage a team of development engineers, product managers and project leaders. We oversee the three platforms YpsoMate Pro, YpsoMate 5.5 and YpsoDose and are responsible for the entire product life cycle: my team develops the platform products, carries out customer-specific variant projects and ensures the market success of the products.
What do you like about your work and the company?
We have a broad range of work, from production topics to business, technical topics and customer conversations, everything is included in our daily work. I see the big picture of the products, from development to sales and production. What I like about the company is that we as employees have an influence on the business, its success, but also on the processes – we can initiate change. It is also very satisfying to work in a company that is family-run and pursues long-term goals.
What does a normal working day look like for you?
There is no such thing as a normal or equal working day. Thanks to FlexWork, I also work from home some of the time. That helps us a lot as both my children go to school. On the business side, I have a lot of coordination tasks, e.g. allocating tasks, keeping track of workloads, intervening if something is not running smoothly and looking for solutions. I am also often in meetings with international customers worldwide, which makes my work very exciting.
How have you developed with us?
I started as a Product Manager and then switched to Business Development after four years. There I was responsible for innovations, i.e. new product developments. I have been leading a team since autumn 2022 and have now been with Ypsomed for 10 years.
What is the working atmosphere like at Ypsomed?
The atmosphere is still very collegial, even though we have grown a lot. I used to know almost all my colleagues at the site – I do not anymore, but the atmosphere is still informal. People are very helpful, I often hear that from new employees. Ypsomed also offers a lot outside the company, sometimes I go jogging or to the gym with colleagues.
Do you commute? What are your experiences with it?
I take the train to work and have a direct connection – 40 minutes from door to door, which is perfect. I work in Burgdorf, two or three days in the office and one or two days at home.
