Company Story

From 2 to 6 September, Ypsomed showcased the wide range of apprenticeship opportunities available at our company at the BAM Career and Training Fair in Bern. Numerous students visited our booth, spoke with our apprentices and vocational trainers, and demonstrated their skills by untangling a carpenter’s knot.

We had the opportunity to have many interesting conversations at our booth at the BAM.

Personal insights into the apprenticeship program

Who better to talk about an apprenticeship at Ypsomed than our apprentices themselves? Together with our vocational instructors, on-the-job trainers, and the Young Talents Team, they introduced visitors to our apprenticeship programs, answered questions, and shared stories from their day-to-day training experiences.

Many students showed great interest and took the opportunity to learn about the various career fields, as well as trial apprenticeships and the application process. Through these personal interactions, they gained an authentic impression of what to expect from an apprenticeship at Ypsomed.

Our apprentices showed the young people with great enthusiasm just how diverse an apprenticeship at Ypsomed is. We were very pleased by the numerous conversations and the high level of interest. Of course, we hope to see some of them again later for a trial apprenticeship or as new apprentices,

says Anna Dietrich, HR Expert at Young Talents, about the event.

Reaching the goal with skill

The activity at our booth provided a playful way to start the conversations: Visitors could try to untie a carpenter’s knot. The seemingly simple knot sparked great interest. A video posted on TikTok also drew numerous young people to the booth.

The challenge is emblematic of Ypsomed: It combines a down-to-earth approach with manual dexterity, spatial awareness, and precision – skills that are also in demand in our apprenticeship programs.

A heartfelt thank you to our apprentices, vocational trainers, and everyone else involved who represented Ypsomed at the BAM and gave the young people and their parents a glimpse into our world of vocational training.
