In 2024, Ypsomed's toolmaking department in Burgdorf successfully participated in the Excellence in Production (EiP) competition and made it to the final in the category ‘Internal toolmaking with over 50 employees’. This is a significant achievement as the competition is one of the most important benchmarking events for tool manufacturing companies in the German-speaking world. It is organised by the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT and the WZL machine tool laboratory at RWTH Aachen in Germany.

The ranking is a great tribute to the commitment and expertise of our team. It shows that we are not only technically, but also organisationally, at a first-class level.

Participation in this competition requires a comprehensive analysis according to the Aachen Tool and Mould Making Management Model (AWFM). As part of the competition, the companies go through several phases: from a detailed self-evaluation to on-site audits and the final evaluation by a top-class jury from science, politics and industry. In addition to the recognition, finalists also receive valuable feedback on strengths and development potential.
