Ultra-modern production plant for injection and infusion systems has started well
At the end of August, we ceremoniously opened our new state-of-the-art production plant in Schwerin, in North-East Germany. The production got off to a good start. Today, three months later, a perfectly tuned team is at work.
On 22 August 2019, we opened our new production plant in Schwerin, Germany. With this additional production site, Ypsomed has secured the necessary capacities for its growth in the years to come. We want to continue to make a significant contribution to making selfcare simpler and easier in the future. Our new production site for injection and infusion systems as well as infusion sets in Schwerin is one of the most modern production plants for medical devices in the world. This is also appreciated by our employees.

Committed employees
At our new production site in Schwerin, which is the state capital of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, a lot has happened since the opening in August and even before. Ingo Schleuß, Manager Production for the Orbit infusion set, talks with a lot of enthusiasm about the last few months. He also reveals that he seized the unique chance to be part of the building up of a new plant and team as well as new products and processes. In the meantime, the production of certain products has already started and the employees are highly motivated. In the near future, the first products that have been produced in Schwerin will be delivered to customers.

Excellent team spirit
The employees who were newly recruited locally or who moved from an Ypsomed location in Switzerland to Schwerin have now become a team that harmonizes excellently.

Also Jessica Lange, Quality Documentation, values the cooperation with her colleagues and the open communication. Future new employees – and there will be numerous as the team is supposed to grow to 150 employees in the next few years – can look forward to an excellent atmosphere in the team. Andres Rohs looks back on his first days at Ypsomed in Schwerin with a good feeling. He felt immediately welcome. “A very great team has had a big share in this and still has,” explains Andres.
