Burgdorf – "Blue Friday" at all Ypsomed locations worldwide: The Ypsomed Group, the leading developer and manufacturer of injection systems for self-medication and a diabetes specialist with global activities, is promoting public awareness of diabetes by conducting internal and external campaigns at each of its sites.

To coincide with World Diabetes Day, the official colour of which is blue, the Ypsomed Group is commemorating "Blue Friday" on that day. The aim is to attract global attention for diabetes and its consequences, Ypsomed is using the day to focus on the "Blue Balloon" campaign. At Ypsomed sites around the world, hundreds of blue balloons will be launched, staff will be dressed in blue, and various rooms, such as company canteens, will be decorated in blue. In Burgdorf, home of Ypsomed headquarters, the "Lumolith" at the entrance to the town and the hospital Burgdorf will also be lit in blue. The balloons are tagged with an information card that shows not only facts and figures about diabetes but also a link to Ypsomed's specially created website for World Diabetes Day (http://www.mylife-diabetescare.com/wdd), where anyone interested can obtain detailed information on the topic of diabetes.
