In August 2022, Ypsomed reached an important milestone in the production of its world's first CO2-neutral autoinjector, YpsoMate Zero: production is now certified according to the ISCC+ standard. This is an international standard used by many plastics companies for their sustainable plastics.

Success for our apprentices

From 7 to 11 September, the SwissSkills Championships took place at the BernExpo. Two Ypsomed apprentices, Gavin (polymechanics) and Fabian (IT), took part. They did very well in their competitions – Gavin came third and Fabian 18th.

Our expansion plans for future success

In 2019, our new production plant was opened in Schwerin in north-eastern Germany. Since then, we have been steadily expanding the plant capacities for our infusion and injection business. The Schwerin site supports our global growth ambitions and provides the production space and technical infrastructure for our medium to long-term growth. With this plant, we are planning for the future in order to always be able to reliably respond to the demand of our customers and partners.

Ypsomed in China

Our future production site

For over 15 years we have been supplying products such as our reusable ServoPen and YpsoPen and, more recently, our disposable UnoPen to China. We have also had an office in China for seven years. Our employees support our business with local pharmaceutical customers. We are currently evaluating possible production sites in order to be able to produce locally in the future and supply the Chinese market directly.

After an interruption of two years, it was with great pleasure that we were able to hold the General Meeting again physically and with a record attendance in Burgdorf. At this event, the focus was on company founder Willy Michel, who had decided to pass on the " baton" and did not stand for re-election. He had already been elected Honorary Chairman of the Ypsomed Group by the Board of Directors in May and was now bid farewell with a festive programme at the General Meeting. He will be succeeded by Gilbert Achermann, who was newly elected Chairman of the Board of Directors.
